INSIDE THE DESIGN

Every component.
One setting sequence.

Follow the interaction between the plug, receiver, adapter, sleeve, breakaway shaft and ball.

THE RECEIVER MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Movement becomes
engagement.

The wedge-and-receiver concept uses controlled deformation to activate sealing and engagement features formed into the receiver itself.

01 / EXPAND

Axial movement.
Radial expansion.

The setting action draws the wedge into the aluminum receiver, expanding it outward toward the casing.

02 / ENGAGE

Integral features.
A common purpose.

Raised sealing features and wickered engagement surfaces are designed to establish a seal and resist axial movement.

03 / RELEASE

Component geometry.
Controlled release.

The illustrated arrangement uses relative component movement to retain and release the ball during the setting sequence.

THE FRAC PLUG

A specific design.
A defined application.

The current embodiment is designed around 5.5-inch, 20 lb/ft P-110 casing. Explore the materials, setting arrangement and application considerations behind the design.
